Im going to give my vote to anyone who is going to ban plastic from our city and plant more trees in parks and alongside streets. Just have a look at Appleby line its almost deserted, no shade especially the north side. In era of tornados and climate warming we should start doing the easiest and cheapest to help the mother earth.

Good day Greg,
I am writing about the phone survey that Councillor Meed Ward has flagged as a concern. Would you mind providing your thoughts on this matter? I am reaching out to the other mayoral candidates as well as Campaign Research.

August 1st and the Municipal elections are ramping up.
It is my belief that Burlington’s election of both councillors and mayor will be hotly contested and very interesting to follow.
I base this on the obvious fact that many citizens have become far more aware of how City Hall functions, and the direction that has been taken under influences from Provincial legislations, such as Places to Grow Act of 2005.
The Official Plan is a very controversial topic still and one I find myself speaking to friends and residents about often,.even though passed and now at the Region.
There is no denying that the Downtown core with it’s eye sores like the Riviera Motel were long past their expiry date and improvements had to be made.
However, this is not the topic, or question I have for all three of you at this time.
Unlike the situation in Toronto, it is my belief that Burlington is far to big of a City, with far too many outside influences being allowed to influence or sway decisions on it’s future over the actual citizens and tax payers.
As such, to allow a quorum of four (4), elected officials to pass important issues at Council meetings, is not realistic in these times.
Having six councillors and a mayor may have functioned well up until approximately 2010, but since then growth and development has moved forwarded rapidly, I might say too rapidly for such a small band of elected officials.
I would like to ask each of you for your thoughts, or plans to propose an increase to the Burlington Council size.
